Meyer was a painter of the Vermont countryside with a special sensitivity to season. He also painted flowers, still life and interiors, and exhibited at Babcock Galleries (1925 and 1927). The 1927 show featured watercolors and pastels done in Italy and included architectural studies and picturesque landscapes. He later exhibited at Macbeth's (1934, 1936, 1939, 1946).
Meyer was a charter member of the Southern Vermont Artists (Manchester, Vermont) where he exhibited regularly. He was also an accomplished pianist and was the father of Mrs. Reginald Marsh.
Meyer was nominated to the Academy by H. R. Rittenberg.
