Label TextInspired by the hanging prayer flags that captivated the artist during a visit to India and Nepal, "Threaded Face Poem #3" is one of a series of approximately thirty large hanging works created by Lesley Dill between 1994 and 1996. The figure is a photographic image that is silkscreened on tea-stained cloth, which relates to the artist's interest in the tea rituals of India. Both physically and metaphorically textural, this work explores Dill's interest in linguistics and semiotics and how they relate to the visual and corporeal worlds.n.d.
