Label TextOver the course of O’Hara’s more than forty year career as a watercolorist, he received numerous awards and wrote scores of articles and books about the medium. He also established several art schools. From 1932 to shortly before his death in 1969, the artist traveled to exotic places around the world in search of inspiring subject matter. His color and design were influenced by Japanese woodblock prints. He painted with traditional washes in quest of achieving a startling simplicity.
