Label TextJones' écorché drawing relates to one of the same size in the National Academy's collection by Ferdinand Thomas Lee Boyle (which dates about 1849). Both drawings are probably after a cast of Houdon's "Écorché." Two casts of the Houdon were owned by the Academy by around 1830. They were presented by the Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvalden, and the physician and anatomy professor John Ludlow Morton.
