Label TextThese three sculptures were cast in 1972 in an edition of twenty-four by Alice de Creeft from Walter Clark's terra-cotta models. The casting was done at the instigation of Clark's son Eliot. According to the younger Clark, his father modeled the works in the late 1870s, presumably while he was studying with the sculptor J. Scott Hartley.
