Label TextClare Van Vliet began to explore the theme of rock formations in 1981, and has visited unique geological rock formations in New Zealand, Australia and the northern coast of Ireland. Kata Tjuta is the name of a rock dome located in Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park in central Australia. The park was the first "cultural landscape" to be inscribed on the World Heritage List as a place representing the interaction between people and the natural environment. Kata Tjuta is a part of the traditional belief system called Tjukurpa of the Anangu Aboriginal people, one of the oldest human societies in the world. Tjukurpa, sometimes inaccurately translated as "Dreamtime" dictates the way in which the Anangu structure their society and look after each other and the land.
