Label TextAlbee attributed her interest in art in part to her grandmothers and her mother, who were artists, and to the wood cuts that she saw as a child in her father's book collection. "My interest in wood cuts and engravings must have started at a very early age, as the coarse, primitive cutting of the books in father's collection disturbed me." Many of Albee's wood engravings are views of farms and landscapes in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, which was her home for many years.
