Label TextWith a look of wild intensity, the artist focuses her attention on rendering a large bird. A masterful printmaker, Turner was known for her powerful engravings of birds. Her work reflected both her profound interest in ecology, and her belief in the need to protect nature and animals from the impact of mankind. Turner’s portrait might have been more proficient if made in her preferred medium. She delivers a raw and very personal view of herself.
